Context and steps to reproduce

We have introduced a new option that allows users to "leave" sites they have been added to but do not own.

Image

  1. Go to https://wordpress.com/sites
  2. Look up a site you've been added to but do not own, and where you have not added any upgrades yourself.
  3. Look for the top menu on the right and click on the "Leave site" option.
  4. The feature does not work. The "Leave site" button is unresponsive even after checking the "I understand the consequences of leaving" checkbox.

Update:

I noticed this is happening to a site with an expired Business plan. I tried with a different site (test15793.wpcomstaging.com), one with an active Business plan, the button becomes active after I tick the checkbox, but it still does not work. I get the following error message: This API call is not allowed for this account.I checked a few minutes later, and it looks like I was removed from the site, though.

I tried a third site, deantest722.wpcomstaging.com (active Business plan, coming soon mode), and I got a different error: This API call is not allowed for this account. However, it looks like I was later removed from the site.
