I've slowed down the velocity at which I'll be releasing major versions going forward as I'm sensitive to how annoying it can be to refactor across multiple major versions 🙇 |

I think it's crazy how often new major versions of SimpleWebAuthn appear. Each major version breaks backwards compatibility and requires people to adjust their code.
I've got an application that had 2FA via SimpleWebAuthn added in 2023-11, when the library had version 8.3.4. Now it's 1.5 years later, and the lib is at major version 13.
Is it really not worth to keep backwards compatibility for more than a couple of months?
As a user of this library, I wish for stability.
