How to contribute to maintaining apt repository (deb/ubuntu/mint)?

Hi! Thanks for all the work you do on the client! I have been able to install the onedrive client by building from source on Linux Mint 22.1 as I noticed that the apt repository did not have the latest version. Is there anyway I can or the community can contribute to the maintenance of the repositories for distros that haven't been updated yet?

This negates you having to build the client manually, and keeps you up-to-date when new versions are released.

Your alternative is work with the current Debian package maintainer and keep the package up-to-date there, and ensure that this is then pushed through to all conumers including backports

Thanks for your response. What prompted me to post was that the column "PKG_Version" in https://github.com/abraunegg/onedrive/blob/master/docs/install.md does not reflect the latest package version that is available in the Debian repository. I posted to offer if there's a way I can assist in maintaining the repository... but it seems someone else might be doing it?

https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/onedrive this says that the latest version availavle is 2.5.4... but the opensuse repository has installed 2.5.5 on my Linux Mint 22.1

You need to click on the Debian links.

When you click the Debian 12 link - its shows you clearly the version is v2.4.23

The Debian QA link shows you what is in Debian Sid (unstable) and/or backports.

The install.md is reflecting the correct actual Debian state.

To fix the Debian state you need to push the client to backports and/or get the Debian packages updated correctly.

This is why the OpenSuse Build Service packages exist so that folk can install the correct client version on their platform.

I wish it was easier for Debian and those platforms based on Debian ... but it needs a maintainer who is active, proactive and keeps things up-to-date
