Temporarily Disable Database Learning?

I have a couple scripts that navigate around directories and do various tasks. I run these often and I realized it pollutes the zoxide database with data that isn't really my common directories visited.

Is there a way to disable zoxide's learning temporarily?

Couldn't you just use cd instead of zoxide in your scripts?

I am using cd in the fish functions I wrote. I believe the "hooks" concept is resulting in the zoxide db update.

I tried to source zoxide differently at the beginning of the script, I attempted to use private mode, and I never got those working.

As I type this I guess a solution would be to remove the default hook and teach myself to use z instead of cd.

That won't work - whether you use z or cd, if you have a hook set up, zoxide will update the DB, and if you don't, zoxide will do nothing.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by "scripts"? What are you running, and how are you running it?

My organization has a lot of repositories across various version control systems. This functions help keep my local up to date, or report information for me to better understand what I got going on. They all walk through the repositories and run various git commands. Below is one where I find all my local branches not default.

The __local_code_loop is just a reusable wrapper since I have a few of these functions.
