abnormally high GET latency with S3_AWSCRT=1

We are observing elbencho reporting abnormally high latency for GET operations with S_AWSCRT=1. The same is not observed with S3_AWSCRT=0

This is indeed very surprising. I remember having seen some performance difference between AWSCRT=0 and AWSCRT=1 in the past when I tested it, but more in the order of 10% and not the big factor that you are seeing here. I will try to compare AWSCRT=1 again in the next days and let you know the results.
