Distribution via App Store?

Have you considered distributing this app through the App Store? It will increase exposure, simplify installation and automatic updates, and also make it possible (easier) for users to support the project through In-app Purchases, like UTM.

Yes, I do have that planned for the future.

Thank you. Is there anything specific preventing App Store distribution right now? I would very much like to use this app on my work computer but my corporate allows only App Store apps (and approved non App Store ones).

There's a lot of work that needs to be done:

• Set up the project for both App Store and direct distribution
• Enable the app sandbox and ensure all features work correctly for both existing and new users
• Review code for usage of private API which is not allowed in App Store apps
• Get the app approved by App Store review 😅

Even then, it's possible that some features will still be limited to the directly-distributed version, as some of the more advanced aspects of VirtualBuddy require the use of private API.
