Proposal

Hi there i cannot find any one diagram fitted for human relationship.
There is diagram usable for hierarchy but no one for complex relationship.
You canot draw a squad inner relationship for exemple.
For my usage it will be for tabletop RPG relationship between PC and NPC,
It can be used professionally to draw inner dynamics in big squad (the ones who work efficiently together, the ones who never talk to each other, the existing sub squad and their unofficial leaders/managers and so on), and for architecture (this is not th way i discovered them).

It is something visual looking mostly like a spider web.
You can found some exemple used for architecture:

And some used in some video games:

I imagine it is the syntax that will be the key part of this.

Like, are you expecting the graph to decide where to put nodes (easing and moving) or are you deciding groups and placements?

Or would you be happy with using the mermaid UI to place circles manually, and drag out relationship lines between them? At that point there is an existing graph and they turn the "placement" algorythm off 🙀

A full "Custom" chart, just plonk objects and relations in 😜 maybe the UI allows easing, but its baked into the description file 😏 in the background, its all the raw data

custom
   First "Character Fluff 1" (0,0) rect img(image.png)
   Second "Fluff Character 2" (100,100) rect[100x50] subtext("quote")
   First -> "Relation" -> Second
   Second (top-connector) - "Relation" - First (SW-connector)

I think a way to order bloc between them "manually" (like coordinates) may be a good option for architect chart, but for human relationship diagram, just a "central" tag on a group or some nodes is the best way to build it.
A central tag may be useful on architect chart too.

i'll try a custom chart when it'll become available here https://www.mermaidchart.com/
