Chat context for custom editors and views

Hi,
I have an extension with custom editors and views containing signal/tabular data.
How to provide the data inside these views and editors as chat context.
Language model tools can be used to access. But need to be pulled from char area.
Best would be to automatically add as context when the view/editor gets selected.
IS there a way to programmatically add a Language model tool to the current content.
