Unable to Activate GitHub Copilot Pro Student Benefit – Need Help

Hi GitHub Community,

I am encountering an issue with activating my GitHub Copilot Pro student benefit. My student status has been verified, and I am eligible for free Copilot Pro under the GitHub Education Pack. However, every time I try to activate the benefit, I am redirected to a payment page instead of receiving the free plan.

What I’ve Tried So Far:
Cleared browser cache and cookies.
Logged in via incognito mode and tried again.
Verified my student status on the GitHub Education Pack page.
Submitted a support ticket through the GitHub Support portal.
Unfortunately, the response I received from support was an automated reply, which didn’t address or resolve my problem.

Expected Behavior:
I should be able to activate GitHub Copilot Pro for free as part of my verified student benefits.

Current Behavior:
When I click the “Get direct access on the website GitHub Copilot” link, I am redirected to a payment page asking for a subscription fee.

Questions:
Has anyone else faced a similar issue? If yes, how did you resolve it?
Is there a way to escalate unresolved cases or contact the Copilot team directly?
Additional Information:
My GitHub username: thaumiel-byte
My student status is verified, and I can access other GitHub Education benefits without issues.

Once approved, you can claim your Copilot PRO offer on this signup link.

To redeem others benefits, go to the pack offers page, scroll down to the "All offers" section and select any offer that suits you.

In case you encounter a problem claiming any offer, I recommend you raise a ticket here, select "I am a verified student having trouble redeeming my Global Campus offers" and explain your issue.

@thaumiel-byte I am having the same issue. I created a ticket, but got the same link you can find everywhere on this forum, which did not fix my problem. Please say if you find a solution!

I’ve submitted several tickets, and all I got were copy-paste replies telling me to use the free_signup link — which just redirects to the payment page. Tickets even got closed without any real help.

I’m honestly just tired of going in circles. I’m thinking of giving up on it. If you ever find a fix, let me know too. Thanks.
