Currently running VirtualBuddy 1.6.2 (131) on an M1 MacBook Pro running macOS 15.0.1. I created a macOS 15.0 VM using this file: I got the notification that a software update is available for macOS 15.0.1 within the VM, but every time I tried to run the update, it fails with a kernel panic and restarts. Am I able to update using the Software Update panel in System Settings, or do I need to update the VM in a different way? |

Same for me. Macbook Pro 14" M3 Pro running Sonoma latest. Trying to install an OS with latest VirtualBuddy and the OS i'm trying to install is 15.0.1 but i keep getting the same message and can't get further ? I don't get any kernel panic it just don't want to continue. Message i get: "A software update is required to complete the installation. Installation requires a software update" Just found this: reading now, Is it not possible to run Sonoma on your Mac and the use VirtualBuddy with macOS 15.x ? |

I tried installing the above referenced software package on both the host and inside the VM, and the kernel panics persist when running the Software Updates inside the VM. |

Trying to upgrade a VM running 15.3.2 and am getting a kernel panic when trying to upgrade to 15.4 (host is 15.4, with VirtualBuddy 1.7.1 (133). panic(cpu 0 caller 0xfffffe0022f54168): /AppleInternal/Library/BuildRoots/17229e79-0523-11f0-a80c-fe9e33ca05fa/Library/Caches/com.apple.xbs/Sources/apfs/kext/apfs_filter.cpp:1713 Assertion failed: !(cpOffset % CRYPTO_SW_BLKSIZE) |

This is most likely some sort of corruption in the guest OS itself or a macOS bug when running under virtualization, not something that could be addressed in VirtualBuddy. I suggest submitting feedback to Apple with the panic report.
