Crash with VMs created on macOS 15.4 beta

Hello,
It seems that VMs created on macOS 15.4 beta will crash just after the Hello screen

I've tested with UTM and it's working fine.
How can I help debug this?

Is your UTM VM also using Apple's Virtualization framework?

Interesting. That error you're seeing usually occurs when the process that runs the virtual machine crashes. You can probably find crashes for com.apple.Virtualization.VirtualMachine if you look in the Console app on the "Crash Reports" page.

As for why it's not happening with the other app, it's probably due to some VM configuration detail that's different between the VM in one app vs. the other, but it's very unlikely that this is a bug in VirtualBuddy itself and not in the Virtualization system.

I suggest filing a feedback to Apple, especially if you can find crash reports for the virtual machine service.

I did some testing here and I was able to reproduce the issue. I think I know what the configuration difference is, and I will release a beta build in the releases page soon that should work around this on macOS 15.4 beta.

For those who run macOS betas on the host Mac, I suggest always running the VirtualBuddy beta as well.

I'm experiencing the same issue with exactly the same error message on the stable release of 15.4 macOS host. My guest is still running 15.3.2 tho.

Same - the b3 release works well with my GM 15.4 host and 15.3 VMs
