Copilot Usage

Apologies if I'm just missing something but I've just started using copilot and subscribed to the pro+ tier and I've used it a fair bit today. I'm just wondering if there was a way to see how many of my monthly requests that I've used? I've tried going into settings and looked in billing and usage but can't really see how many I have used so far.

Regarding tracking your premium request usage - you've actually stumbled upon something many new Pro+ subscribers ask about! Currently, the UI for individual subscribers doesn't provide a super straightforward way to see exactly how many of your 1,500 monthly premium requests you've used. While organizations have more detailed analytics tools, for individual Pro+ subscribers like yourself, there's supposed to be a usage report at https://github.com/settings/billing/usage, but some users are reporting issues accessing this report.

The good news is that with your Pro+ subscription, you have a generous allocation of 1,500 premium requests per month, which is plenty for most individual developers. GitHub designed this tier specifically for power users, so even with heavy usage, you're unlikely to hit this limit during normal development work.

Premium request usage is based on the model’s multiplier and the feature you’re using. For example:

• Copilot coding agent uses a fixed multiplier of 1 for the premium requests it uses, and may use multiple premium requests in response to one user prompt. ↩
• The base model at the time of writing is powered by GPT-4.1. This is subject to change. Response times for the base model may vary during periods of high usage. Requests to the base model may be subject to rate limiting. ↩

If you're particularly concerned about tracking usage, here are a few options:

1. Check your GitHub account settings under Billing and plans, though this mainly confirms your subscription type rather than detailed usage metrics
2. Keep an eye out for notification emails from GitHub, as they'll alert you if you're approaching any limits
3. The Plans for GitHub Copilot page provides details on what's included in your Pro+ subscription
