Switching Page Editors Removes HTML Changes

I noticed that if I make a change to the font color of a table header using the Raw HTML editor then switch that page's editor to Visual Editor, the changes are reverted to their original state.

1. Original line of code:
   <td style="background-color:hsl(0, 0%, 24%);height:18.0pt;width:152pt;"><strong>Bookmark Topic</strong></td>

2. Edit the line using the Raw HTML editor:
   <td style="color:hsl(0, 0%, 100%);background-color:hsl(0, 0%, 24%);height:18.0pt;width:152pt;"><strong>Bookmark Topic</strong></td>

3. Save the page.

4. Review the page to see that the change has been implemented (changing font color).

5. Switch page editor to Visual Editor to continue making edits in an easier to read format.

6. Change made is reverted back to original line of code.

I agree. This bug report was more for the Wiki.js developers to implement a fix rather than finding a workaround. I tried the workarounds and did have some success using different color codes. For example, if I use HTML color names instead of HSL values, it seems that the edits remain even when switching between editors.

I should also mention that I'm currently using Wiki.js to transition info from one website to another used within my organization, and when I copy info from the previous website to Wiki.js and then view the page with the HTML editor, the code is already using HSL values for assigning colors. This makes me think that there is less of an issue with parsing or "sanitization" and more of an issue with maintaining edits when switching between editors. But, as mentioned, there is a workaround by using HTML color names instead of HSL values.

Converting between formats will always strip / modify content in ways you might not intend, as the Visual Editor is quite limited in what it supports. There's not much that can be done unfortunately.

The upcoming v3 will use a different and newer editor, which may or may not support your custom code.
